Would I need to set termination resistor for CAN?
[Question] Is a CAN termination resistor required?
[Answer]
(1) If a 120 Ohm x2 termination resistor exists on the CAN bus, no termination resistor is required on the NETIMPRESS side.
(2) When a 120 Ohm resistor is built in the ECU when connecting to the ECU on a one-to-one basis, a 120Ω termination resistor is required on the NETIMPRESS side.
(3) When there is a one-to-one connection with the ECU, if a termination resistor is not built in the ECU, a 60 Ohm termination resistor is required on the NETIMPRESS side.
The termination resistance on the NETIMPRESS side can be changed by parameter setting. (60 Ohm / 120 Ohm / No termination resistor) For details on the setting method, refer to the manual of your definition program.
