Question:What is the difference between FULL VERIFY and SUM VERIFY?
1.FULL VERIFY
After writing, all data is read from the flash memory and compared with the programmer's buffer memory for comparison and verification. (It is general read verify processing.)
2.SUM VERIFY
Calculate the sum value of the read data of the flash memory inside the target microcomputer and compare it with the sum value of the buffer memory calculated on the programmer side. Compared with FULL VERIFY operation, full data transfer is omitted, so the programming time is faster.
*SUM VERIFY is a simple check to compare only the sum value and the reliability is inferior than FULL VERIFY, so we recommend FULL VERIFY if you are using it for manufacturing purposes.
*When the READ command is executed, the verify processing is FULL VERIFY operation regardless of the setting of Verify Mode (FUNC 99).
(Reference)example of programming time
NXP MPC5534(Flash 1MB)
Operating Clock 40MHz JTAG Baud Rate 5Mbps
EPR(FULL VEFIRY) 32s , EPR(SUM VERIFY) 20s
